Only 6.67% Indian institutes headed by female
According to Press reports India, there is a major dearth of female academic leaders in the higher education system of India; Only 6.67 % of Indian institutes are headed by women.
According to survey report only 54 positions out of 810 headed by females approximately 6.67% females are academic leaders. “Recently, government regulations have increased female participation in corporate board rooms, however, it is important for us to create female academic leaders who can inspire young girls during their study days to take up leadership roles,” EduShine Managing Partner, Kalpesh Banker told PTI.
The analysis enclosed all the universities categorized into Central University, State University, State Private University, Deemed University, and Institute of National Importance.

According to survey, most of famous colleges in India have no female academic heads. Central affiliated University have better percent rate as compare to state university. Central universities have 9.8% female academic heads while state universities have only 8.61 percent.
