Jamia Millia Islamia to Admit Engineering & Architecture Students through JEE Exam 2016

Jamia Millia Islamia is a public central university situated in Delhi, India. It was established at Aligarh in United Provinces during british rule in India in 1920. It became a Central University by an act of the Indian Parliament in 1988. Now, Jamia administration has announced that engineering and architecture candidates will be admitted via IIT-JEE 2016 exams.

Those seeking admission to B.Tech and B.Arch programmes offered by Jamia Millia Islamia will no longer have to appear for a separate entrance examination and deciding to admit students through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). The Jamia university written in urdu as: جامعہ ملیہ اسلامیہ, in hindi: जामिया मिलिया इस्लामिया in english translation: National Islamic University.

The Jamia university provides undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate courses. Vice Chancellor Talat Ahmad had last month said, that the university was planning to admit BTech students through JEE and concerned authorities have been approached in this regard.

He said, “It will not only help us deal better with chances of paper leak, but also the recognition of courses offered by Jamia will improve significantly since the students will be admitted through JEE”.

In addition to appearing in JEE Main 2016 exam, the candidates are required to submit Jamia millia islamia online application form 2015-16.

“The admission will be strictly as per merit of JEE Mains score and admission norms and reservation policy of Jamia.

It is to be noted that, JEE-Main is conducted by the CBSE, is used as a selection examination for all Central government-funded technical schools, including the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and the Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), while students opting for the IITs need to clear the JEE-Advanced exam.
