Women Showing more Interest in Pg Courses
According to a survey females in India are more interesting in higher education courses. This survey was done by the Human Resource Development. The number of women who pursuing post graduate courses are higher than males.
The All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) 2014-15 (provisional) says that “53% male students and 47% female students at the undergraduate level of study. However, changes at the stage of post graduate studies female are showing more interest; 51 per cent female students against 49 per cent men in post-graduation course.
But when it comes to diploma courses men outnumbered the females. There are 72 per cent males and only 28 per cent females in diploma courses.
The survey data also says that the highest number of students enrolled is for undergraduate courses. Out of the total students, 79.9 per cent students are enrolled at the undergraduate level, while only 11.45 per cent of the students enrolled for post graduate level studies.
