Indian Americans Lead the National Spelling Bee 2015

2015 Scripps Spelling Bee Winners:-

Just like the Past year this Year the crown of Scripps Spelling Bee champion shared by the two students Vanya Shivashankar Speller No. 90 and Gokul Venkatachalam speller no. 140. We had 10 champions in the last 14 contests of Indian or American/South Asian.

History of Spell Bee: –

In 1925 Nine newspaper Collaborated together and start a national level champion ship spelling quiz for students which is called spelling Bee but later in 1944 Scripps took over sponsorship of the National Spelling Bee. But there is no national Spelling Bee at the time of war.

This is not the first time when winners trophy share by two students in 1950, 1957, 1962 and 2014 trophy were also shared by two champions. In last 90 years spelling bee make 91 champions, 47 have been girls and 44 have been boys.
