More than 65 Million Teachers in Demand by 2030 in the World for Quality Universal Education

Recently, UNESCO released a report stating that nearly 263 million children and youth are still out of primary and secondary schools across the world. Report of UNESCO says that world must recruit millions of new teachers to be able to meet the goal of universal education by the year 2030, specially in Asian countries.

All the countries are working for Education to all. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation’s (UNESCO) Institute for Statistics launched its ‘Valuing Teachers, Improving Their Status’ report to mark World Teachers’ Day. South Asia must recruit about 15 million new teachers to be able to meet the goal of universal education by 2030, a new report released by the UN said.

It is for the first time that estimates have been published showing the number of teachers that will need to be recruited to meet the target of providing education for all, agreed by UN member countries in 2015 as part of the Sustainable Development Goals. 2030 is like the deadline of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for Education to all.

UNESCO has released a detailed report stating that there is a huge demand of teachers in order to provide quality universal primary and secondary education in the world by 2030. It is for the first time that estimates have been published showing the number of teachers that will need to be recruited to meet the target of providing education for all.

Sustainable Development Goal demands inclusive and equitable quality education for all by 2030. It includes a specific call for more qualified teachers, and more support from the international community for teacher training in developing countries.
