Education should aim at building character – Said Pranab Mukherjee

President Pranab Mukherjee, who is also stared as education enthusiast, has said that education can help in development the soul of peaceful co-existence and getting of diversity, and should aim at building character. “Education is just not injecting some information in the mind of a student… aim of education should be building character,” he said on December 23.

According to Pranab Mukherjee education will help to build good character of students. As per the PTI reports, the President said that education helps in encouraging capacity, building trust, peaceful co-existence, wisdom of mind, and developing scientific displeasure. “It also helps to nurture culture, the spirit of co-existence and acceptance of diversity,” Mukherjee said, speaking at the closing ceremony of the sesquicentennial (150 years) celebrations of Bishop Cotton Boys’ School in Bengaluru.

Earlier, President Mukherjee had called for scientific education and said that education should reinforce students’ relationship with society and develop a scientific temper in them.
